6 Months

I can't believe Deacon has been in our home for half a year. Time really is flying but we are loving every new stage with him. Deacon is such a curious, independent little boy and he is such a joy in our lives. He has quite the little personality and keeps us very busy. We are coming to the realization that there is not really a middle ground with Deacon. He is either REALLY happy or REALLY mad....or as the pediatrician said "feisty"! His mad moments generally mean he is tired, hungry, or in some sort of pain we guess from teething or his reflux. 

Here are some facts about Deacon at 6 months:

-He is SO busy! He can get anywhere he wants by army crawling, scooting, or rolling. He has so much determination it is crazy. 

-He seems to be really close to crawling on all fours. He gets up on his hands and knees or his hands and feet but can't quite figure out how to move his arms forward. 

-He loves to stand up to furniture with help. This will generally cheer him up if he is grumpy. 

-He is sitting independently but still topples over frequently so we have to stay close to him.

-He is obsessed with anything that is not a toy such as cell phones, remotes, paper, computers, etc. 

-He has quite the case of "stranger danger". Basically he won't let anyone besides mom or dad hold him. We are praying this is a short phase. 

-He has really taken a liking to solid foods. There isn't anything he hasn't liked besides sweet potatoes. 

-He likes playing peek-a-boo and is starting to hide under blankets. 

-We started this game of chase that Deacon is obsessed with. Alan holds Deacon and I chase them and he laughs hysterically. 

-He loves to stick his tongue out and will mimic us when we do it. 

-He has started to babble 

-He loves being outside

-He only sleeps on his belly

-Wearing size 3 diapers

-Got his 2nd haircut

-He does the cheesiest grins that seriously melt our hearts

6 Month Stats:

Weight: 16 pounds, 13 ounces-33rd percentile

Height: 26 1/4 inches-39th percentile
