I have been debating whether to get Deacon a play gym, wondering if he would really like it. My sister-in-law said I could just borrow hers. Well we decided to give it a try over Christmas break to entertain Deacon while we ate dinner one night. I about died at how much he loved it. He seriously is mesmerized by the toys. Maybe I can take a shower now!

Newborn Pictures
We had Deacon's newborn pictures taken by Journey Photography when he was 4 days old. It is crazy to look at these pictures because he has already grown so much. Was he really that tiny just 6 weeks ago? I'm so glad we were able to capture that precious time!

6 Weeks
Despite my protests, my baby boy is growing and getting bigger by the second...literally! Our poor little guy had to have his tongue clipped AGAIN so we had him weighed at the doctor and he now weighs 11 pounds, 4 ounces and is in the 70th percentile! No wonder his 0-3 month clothes are getting snug!
We fall in love with this boy more and more every day. He is getting quite the little personality and it melts our hearts! His biggest accomplishment over the last couple of days is that he has been sleeping 7-8 hours straight at night! He is scoring some major brownie points with me! Since he is sleeping through the night he has been staying awake for longer periods during the day and he loves to kick his arms and legs on the floor. He loves to talk and have "conversations" with mom and dad. His smiles are becoming more frequent and they are definitatly purposful, which we are loving!
Some other things Deacon is loving are his baths, infant massage, and his hands! Tummy time has now turned into hand sucking time.
He had his first major "blow-out" on his 6 week birthday, which ended up all over mom and then he proceeded to pee all over dad while being changed! It was pretty awesome to say the least!
We are loving every milestone but wishing time would slow down. We love you Deacon!

Ho Ho Ho
While we were in Utah for Thanksgiving we were able to get together with our friends for a Christmas party. I don't remember the last time we have all been together so it was so fun that everyone was in town! Lindsay and Michelle planned the party and Lindsay and Jeff hosted it at their house. They totally outdid themselves and we had a blast.
We are loving being a family of three now!
As we were finishing up dinner...the front door flew open and Santa walked in! It was such a fun surprise!
Santa had a present for everyone at the party and of course we all had to sit on his lap.
We all got pajama pants!
Deacon wasn't so sure about Santa!
All of the handsome boys. They are quite the crack up when they get together!Thursday, December 8, 2011
Friends
Deacon met his first little friend last night. Blake is just one week younger than Deacon and is the first of many babies that will be arriving in the next several months. We can hardly wait for Deacon's soon-to-be friends!

Deacon's First Month
I have to refrain myself from taking pictures of Deacon every second of every single day. Alan and I are convinced that every face or movement he makes is adorable! So forgive me for all the pictures but I had to post some of my favorite shots from the last month. It was hard to choose!
My mom came and stayed with us for a couple of days after Deacon was born. She was a lifesaver and basically worked herself to death. We wouldn't have survived without her!
Why buy mittens when you have socks! I love this picture. Alan's mom is holding Deacon. She also came up to Pocatello and helped us out a ton.
Mohawk!
This picture cracks me up....Deacon giving us the evil eye!

Deacon's First Thanksgiving
We spent our Thanksgiving in Utah introducing Deacon to lots of family and friends. He was a hit! I'm not gonna lie...I think I almost gave myself an ulcer worrying about him getting passed around but I survived! I'm a little freaked out about colds, coughs, and germs touching my boy! Hand sanitizer is our new best friend! Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of everyone he met but I tried!
Deacon did great on the car ride and slept the whole time thankfully!
