Study, Study, Study

This weekend Alan did a whole lot of studying, which means I did a whole lot of nothing! I don't know who is more excited for finals to be over...him or me. Alan was able to take a much needed break on Friday night.
Dinner at Five Guys
After dinner we watched the Jazz game and made virgin margaritas...thanks to Spencer. He is always a great host! I can't wait for this week to be over to have my husband back! And in other exciting news...I'm going to be an aunt again in 15 days!!!

Finally...

After raiding every thrift store in Pocatello on a weekly basis...we FINALLY found a t.v. stand! I think every store now knows us by name...embarrassing. So if you are ever in Pocatello and need some advice on a thrift/antique store, we can definitely give you some!

Here is the new project we are going to undertake. I already have some ideas in mind but I'm hoping it will turn out as I envision it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a day without wind here in Pocatello so I can start painting.

Lazy Sunday

One of the biggest adjustments since moving to Pocatello is not being with our families on Sundays. Sometimes it makes for a long day...not that we don't love just being with each other! I miss my mom's Sunday dinners, spending time with our families, and playing with my nephew. Today I made a roast, which I had one bite of. I have decided the meat at Winco is a little sketchy and today was my last straw. Lucky for us the weather has been nice and we were able to go on a walk. Our night consisted of chocolate chip cookies and Rummikub.
Notice how the cookies are flat and burnt. I seriously cannot figure out my oven. It seriously cooks things in half the time a recipe says which makes for some unsuccessful meals. And yes, we play Rummikub by ourselves. I think we play it almost every Sunday and most always has a bet involved. Alan won tonight, earning him a back tickle. Guess I better rest my hands!

Easter Eggs

Mickenzie planned a fabulous girls' night of dying easter eggs. She had practically anything you could think of to decorate an easter egg. To start the night off, Mickenzie showed us how to blow out an egg. If you haven't ever done it, it seriously is disgusting, yet hilarious!
Step 1...Drill holes in the egg, producing a terrible smell
Step 2...Break up the egg yoke
Step 3...Blow as hard as you can
We decided to have a contest to see who could blow out an egg the fastest. How sick are we?
And here are the results...

Bowling Date

It has been quite depressing being back to work and the freezing cold in Poky! However, we had a fabulous time bowling with our friends the other night. We are so grateful for good friends we have met here.

A reason to celebrate!

Our one year anniversary was on March 20th which also happened to fall over Alan's Spring Break. We planned a trip to San Clemente California and were lucky to be able to stay in a beautiful beach house thanks to Damon and Missy! I'm not really thrilled with the pictures we took. It gets a little tricky when there is just two of us. We got pretty creative with the self-timer.
Check out our beautiful view from the beach house!

We went to L.A. one day and saw Cats. I really wish it would have been Wicked but we still had a good time despite the three hours it took us to get there because of traffic. This is definitely one positive about living in Poky.
We were able to meet up with Kylee and Eddie after the show at The Grove and went to dinner. It was so great to see them.
Shopping at the Spectrum
Alan braved the ocean water a couple times...I opted to lay on the beach.
Alan purchased his first pair of rainbows and is reaping the benefits!
We took a couple of bike rides on the beach. Oh how I wish I could do this every morning.
I think I gained 10 pounds due to excessive amounts of frozen yogurt. We found one awesome place that had red velvet flavor...delicious! I'm thinking of opening a franchise in Poky...
This picture was taken from a branch in a tree thanks to Alan's creativity.
Our good friend Tally was in Cali for his Spring Break. He came over one night and we had smores on the beach...so fun.
We had a fabulous trip and are dreading being back in the grind of things. We were warmly greeted by Pocatello with some snow...lucky us!

Visitors

We were so lucky to have my parents come to Poky and spend the weekend with us! Lucky for us we not only got to spend time with my parents but we got some much needed projects done around our house. One of those projects consisted of power washing our garage. Let me explain...we had the brilliant idea a couple weeks ago to spray paint our kitchen table. Due to the cold weather, we figured we would do it in our garage. This was not the best idea I have ever had. After being intoxicated by the fumes, we found brown residue covering the entire garage and everything in it. To make a long story short, we have been parking our car in the driveway for the last couple of weeks because I am paranoid we are going to track the dust into our house.

While the men worked, my mom and I shopped and sewed. It was so nice to spend some time with my parents and it made me realize how much I miss spending time with my family whenever I want. I can't wait for the day when we can hopefully live close to our family again. Thanks for coming mom and dad!
