Easter Eggs

Mickenzie planned a fabulous girls' night of dying easter eggs. She had practically anything you could think of to decorate an easter egg. To start the night off, Mickenzie showed us how to blow out an egg. If you haven't ever done it, it seriously is disgusting, yet hilarious!
Step 1...Drill holes in the egg, producing a terrible smell
Step 2...Break up the egg yoke
Step 3...Blow as hard as you can
We decided to have a contest to see who could blow out an egg the fastest. How sick are we?
And here are the results...

Theres nothing like a night with your girlfriends!

Bowling Date

It has been quite depressing being back to work and the freezing cold in Poky! However, we had a fabulous time bowling with our friends the other night. We are so grateful for good friends we have met here.

A reason to celebrate!

Our one year anniversary was on March 20th which also happened to fall over Alan's Spring Break. We planned a trip to San Clemente California and were lucky to be able to stay in a beautiful beach house thanks to Damon and Missy! I'm not really thrilled with the pictures we took. It gets a little tricky when there is just two of us. We got pretty creative with the self-timer.
Check out our beautiful view from the beach house!

We went to L.A. one day and saw Cats. I really wish it would have been Wicked but we still had a good time despite the three hours it took us to get there because of traffic. This is definitely one positive about living in Poky.
We were able to meet up with Kylee and Eddie after the show at The Grove and went to dinner. It was so great to see them.
Shopping at the Spectrum
Alan braved the ocean water a couple times...I opted to lay on the beach.
Alan purchased his first pair of rainbows and is reaping the benefits!
We took a couple of bike rides on the beach. Oh how I wish I could do this every morning.
I think I gained 10 pounds due to excessive amounts of frozen yogurt. We found one awesome place that had red velvet flavor...delicious! I'm thinking of opening a franchise in Poky...
This picture was taken from a branch in a tree thanks to Alan's creativity.
Our good friend Tally was in Cali for his Spring Break. He came over one night and we had smores on the beach...so fun.
We had a fabulous trip and are dreading being back in the grind of things. We were warmly greeted by Pocatello with some snow...lucky us!

Visitors

We were so lucky to have my parents come to Poky and spend the weekend with us! Lucky for us we not only got to spend time with my parents but we got some much needed projects done around our house. One of those projects consisted of power washing our garage. Let me explain...we had the brilliant idea a couple weeks ago to spray paint our kitchen table. Due to the cold weather, we figured we would do it in our garage. This was not the best idea I have ever had. After being intoxicated by the fumes, we found brown residue covering the entire garage and everything in it. To make a long story short, we have been parking our car in the driveway for the last couple of weeks because I am paranoid we are going to track the dust into our house.

My dad getting the power washer ready

While the men worked, my mom and I shopped and sewed. It was so nice to spend some time with my parents and it made me realize how much I miss spending time with my family whenever I want. I can't wait for the day when we can hopefully live close to our family again. Thanks for coming mom and dad!

Colbie!

So we spent our Friday night raiding thrift stores, getting milkshakes at Sonic, and checking our blood pressure. We for sure felt like losers!

Lucky for us, Colbie Caillat saved our weekend and came to concert in Poky! We love her! Alan's friends gave him a hard time and said I owed him for making him come to the concert. Little do they know that Alan probably would have gone to the concert by himself! Best part of the night was that we got to the concert early and some guy in charge of tickets gave us different tickets for a better seat...definitely our lucky day!

Valentine's Weekend 2010

We went to Salt Lake over Valentine's Day weekend. My good friend Melissa got married and my sister and nephew were also in town. I was so bummed I wasn't able to be with Melissa all day because of work but we did make it to the reception. Melissa looked absolutely beautiful and it was so fun to finally meet her husband Mark. It was nice to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in awhile.
It was so good to see my sister and we can't get enough of Weston. We spent the weekend shopping, laughing, eating, and getting pedicures! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but of course I got one with my two nephews.
Alan's mom had a Valentine's Day dinner of Alan's favorite...crab legs. He only gets them when she makes them because I'm not a fan. I don't like the taste and it seems to be way too much work to pry out a tiny piece of meat! Alan and I got a couple's massage the weekend before for our Valentine's gift to each other. It was fabulous and much needed!

Life Lately

Things have been pretty uneventful the last couple weeks here in Poky. It seems like all we have been doing is work, work, and more work. Alan is in his second semester of Pharmacy School and started taking classes for his MBA this semester as well. He has class on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. I don't envy him! Work for me has been crazy. A couple weeks ago I was asked to do an hour presentation for Channel 12 here in Pocatello that will be aired twice a week for the month of February. Not sure why I was asked to do this assignment but I'm pretty sure it might have something to do with being being the newest employee and getting everyone's dirty work. I think this will be the closest thing I'll get to stardom in my life! I got my stitches off a week ago and I am so glad! I was getting pretty sick of showering like this...

Alan mastered the art of hair washing but I'm pretty sure he is glad he doesn't have to wake up early to wash my hair anymore!
I'm learning that the bad thing about being a homeowner and being in school is that you have no money to decorate. I am on a mission to find cheap things and refurbish them. We went to 5 different thrift stores tonight and came home empty handed...except for these shoes I bought at Ritzy Repeats for $2...what a deal!
The hunt continues for some furniture!
