24th of July

My parents planned a fabulous getaway to Park City for the 24th of July. Unfortunately, Shannon and Cameron couldn't make it but the rest of the family spent a couple days together. We spent the first night checking out the shops on main street.

After buying WAY too much at the outlets, we went to dinner and then stopped by a concert at the Homestead.

No trip to Park City is complete without the Alpine Slide. It was Luke's first time and he loved it!

I was pretty excited when I saw the Kettle Corn at the outdoor market. I'm slightly obsessed.

Living away has really made us appreciate the times we get to see our family and friends. Thanks mom and dad for a fabulous weekend!

We are headed to this beautiful place tomorrow. Could anything be better than Lake Powell...maybe Hawaii!

4th of July Weekend

Now that it is practically the 24th of July, I figured I better post about our 4th of July weekend! My sister was in town from California so we headed down to Salt Lake for some family fun. I think every picture I took consisted of Alan or myself with our niece or one of our nephews. We must be obsessed! This is what our weekend consisted of...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALAN!

Alan turned 25 yesterday! I can't believe he is a quarter of a century. I think I might have a nervous breakdown in September when I turn 25! Birthdays and holidays stress me out because Alan is WAY more thoughtful and creative than I am. I guess that's a good thing for me but bad for him! We didn't do anything too out of the ordinary but I tried to plan some fun activities for the weekend. Friday we had a BBQ and played mini golf. Too bad for Alan, I beat him!

Saturday we went swimming at the local swimming pool. Never before have I seen so many kids and pregnant women. I think we were the only 25 year old without kids. Needless to say, we got some sun and did some good people watching.

Saturday we practiced using the self-timer before going to dinner at the Sandpiper here in Pocatello.

We got a new camera and apparently did not realize that it would take 10 pictures in a row when using the self-timer. It made for a good laugh.

Our friends came over tonight to celebrate with cake and ice-cream...and some cookies.

After our discovery with the self-timer, we decided to put it to good use...

Happy Birthday Alan. I love you and can't wait to celebrate more birthdays and grow old with you!

Summer Lovin

We are thoroughly enjoying our summer in Pocatello. If only it was like this year round.

The Great Outdoors

Alan and I got some camping gear for Christmas and we have been looking forward to using it. Lucky for us, our friends were excited to plan a camping trip too. We had to coax Mickenzie a bit but I think she is now hooked and will happily go on future camping trips...right Mickenzie? Apparently everyone had the same idea as us because it took some searching to find an open campsite. However, it was worth the wait because we found a perfect spot.

We made tinfoil dinners and I definitely need to make some adjustments next time. Who knew making tinfoil dinners could be so difficult? Apparently there are a bunch of tricks to avoid burnt veggies, which I will try next time.

The entertainment of the night was watching the guys shotgun mountain dews. This is seriously a stupid idea. Spencer has it mastered!

The best part of the trip was that the guys did all the cooking and cleaning up. We should go camping more often!

The next day some we headed to Lava with Cali and Spencer to go swimming....water slides and all. We had a blast and can't wait for the next trip!
